Centenary for Carlo Abarth

Tomorrow the hundred years have been suffered that Carlo Abarth were born. That Fiat is extended commemorated. Including with a special version of 500 the Abarth. The Abarth born in Austria died on 24 October 1979.

Karl Abarth were on 15 November 1908 in Vienna born. In 1934, moved he to Italië , where he Carlo became. In 1949, he set up its own make of car. The logo refers to its constellation: scorpion. Before he started its own mark, its life played himself mainly finished on the circuits where he engine bicycles racete. The mark Abarth aimed in the first place at the production of raceauto’ s and special accessories. Up to on the day of today the mark lives on within the Fiat group.

To celebrate the centenary of Carlo Abarth, in the Torino Esposizioni an exhibition has been set up around the man and the mark. Those are opened today and last up to 14 December. On the morning of 16 November special for Abarthisti a number of activities has been organised. Peak is the procession of Abarths which drives as from the exhibition spot to the mirofiori factory.
